  1. Hahaha. Well, all I can say is great minds think alike 🙂 You posting about your hose picture and me posting about using hosiery in the garden! LOL. Great timing. Love the pic. Another great idea!

  2. You are welcome to link to my blog, Miss Daisy — thanks! And when this little melon gets bigger, I’ll probably actually put it in a stocking to better protect it from the squirrels and opossums. I just need to track down someone in our hippy city who wears pantyhose! I think that pantyhose was from my wedding, rofl. I just knew I needed to hold onto it for 13.5 years, to use in my garden. The other “leg” was used for a thistle sock for the finches, but they preferred the lace version I made instead.

  3. Now you went and put ideas in my head and not all of them are nice. I like the idea of going vertical with melons on a good sturdy fence. I’d use a different undergarment to support the melons though. I think melon pairs would make for some interesting photos.

  4. I admit, Wiseacre, that I’d already considered it, and had I two cantaloupes side by side, this might have been a different post, haha. It’s a good thing my garden isn’t visible from the street!

  5. love this idea. i am always trying to grow vertically in our little space and always wonder how the squash family with their heavy bodies will support themselves when they grow old! great blog.
