This is my disclosure. It is easy to adopt an organic-living lifestyle, but it is not easy to do it all at once. Baby steps still get you there, so start with you can do, and as habits develop, it's easy to take the next step. I'm not 100% green yet, but I'm devoted to doing as much as I can without feeling overwhelmed with the weight of the world. I do what I can, and happily the list is long, thanks to how my baby steps have added up. My biggest challenge so far was giving up my Bounty paper towels, with their nice "Select-a-Size" sheets and super absorbency -- the recycled rolls just couldn't hold up, but finally I've found recycled paper towels with select-a-size, and I'm reaching for cloth almost as a habit. And as much as I want to cycle to the grocery store, I can't lug all the groceries for a family of four home on my bike. The important thing is to be conscious of the impact of your activities, and it gets a lot easier to make green choices a habit. |
